A Cruel and Unjust world,
Is what I say we live in,
But many of you disagree,
And here, I respond.
Perhaps, I was wrong.
I looked through sunglasses;
The world had darkened in my eyes.
But, a little birdie brought me out of my misery,
Instead of “despair,” he whispered,
Death tolls were high, childhood education was low,
Poverty was high and most lived till 52.
But today, times have changed,
Deaths are lower, education is high, we live longer.
There is a happy story.
Careful not to let the light blind you,
Though we have come far, there is cruelty,
Still existent on this planet. Let us rise,
Using the hope as strength,
To fight and end the injustices.
Prove my first poem wrong,
I dare you.
